Siri stopped working after updating to 3.0

After updating my Apple Watch to OS 3, Siri and dictation quit working. Any help?

The following steps may help.


On your iPhone, go to:


  • Settings > General > Keyboard - check that Enable Dictation is turned on.
  • Settings > General > Restrictions - check that the restriction for Siri & Dictation is not enabled
  • Settings > Siri - disable, pause for a few moments and then re-enable Siri.


If that does not immediately help, try also restarting both devices afterwards. Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first:

After updating both watches, my wife's and myself to the latest operating system on both of our iPhones and watches Siri, dictation, and being able to use the watches phone function have all been disabled. Anything that needs to use the microphone no longer works. The fact that after updating both watches now have the exact same simultaneous dysfunction must mean there is a bug in the latest update
